Shiga Kogen / Nagano

With 21 ski fields, 70 lifts and more than 80 courses, Shiga Kogen is the biggest snow resort in Japan and caters for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. It is located in the Joshinetsu National Park and blessed with powder snow equal to Hokkaido in quality. There is no doubt you will enjoy skiing and unwinding at Shiga Kogen.

Shiga Kogen has seven hot springs: Kumanoyu, Kidoike, Hotaru, Shigayama, Takamagahara, Hoppo and Makuiwa. It also has breathtaking scenery most notably the beautiful view of the North Alps, snow monsters, and the setting sun over the sea of clouds. A range of events, including snowshoe hiking are held during winter. And don't miss the famous snow monkeys in the rock baths at Jigokudani Moneky Park.
